Feeling Batty!

I hear that you've been playing tricks,
So listen, here's the scoop...
I'm running short on candy treats,
So this year you get Bat Poop!!!

*******************

Just kidding everyone :D
It is close to Halloween time, so I thought I would share my "batty" earrings with you.

Plus, I live in Austin, Texas and we have a bridge here called Congress Bridge. We have one of the largest bat populations in the U.S.. In October, they head back South for the winter.

How Many Bats Live Under the Congress Avenue Bridge?: The Congress Avenue bridge in downtown Austin is the spring and summer home to some 750,000 bats with up to 1.5 million bats at the peak of the bat-watching season. It's the largest urban bat colony in North America.

Why Did the Bats Choose the Congress Avenue Bridge?: While bats have called Austin home for many years, it was after renovations to the Congress Avenue bridge over Town Lake in 1980 that they found their favorite hang out. Narrow but deep openings created in the bridge turned out to be perfect accommodations.

Congress Avenue Bat Flights: Each evening around sunset the Congress Avenue bats emerge like a black cloud from the crevices of the bridge. Covering the countryside in search of food, it is estimated that the bats consume from 10,000 to 30,000 pounds of insects.
Giving birth in June or July, the bats and pups hang around til October when they head back south. Watching the nightly forays for food is a favorite evening activity, especially in late summer.

Ooooooooooooooooo...we also have another kind of bat here in Austin...

Disney Magic

I am a huge Disney fan! I have been to Disney World at least 40 times. I am 36 years old and no matter how old I get, I go every year with my grandparents. They are the real children and that is what makes it fun.

I have put up a poll to find out what your favorite ride at Disney is. I have so very many, but I think my tops are:
  1. Test Track - Epcot
  2. Haunted Mansion - Magic Kingdom
  3. Pirates of The Caribbean - Magic Kingdom
  4. Tomorrowland Transit Authority - Magic Kingdom
  5. The Backlot Tour - Disney Hollywood Studio's
  6. Kilimanjaro Safari - Animal Kingdom

I think my favorite park is Epcot. I love the World Showcase! It is so much fun to see the architecture, culture and retail items from those countries. I have tried to get Grandma to play "Beers Around The World" with me, but she just never goes for it...LOL

We also have our fav restaurants we love to go to too!

  1. Chef Mickey's - Contemporary
  2. 1900 Park Fare - Grand Floridian
  3. Mexico - Epcot
  4. Crystal Palace - Magic Kingdom

Let me know...have you been to Disney...do you love it....favorites????

"It's A Small World"...thanks for checking out mine!

Our fav place for Sunday Brunch is Texican Cafe. We have a wonderful server that goes above and beyond EVERYTIME! Her name is Trisha. We just love her. I made these earrings for her and she just loves them!
I have these on my etsy site right now. They would be great to give to a frend for the Halloween season or anytime just for the fun of it!
